Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the central business district on a Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities reported the forty-year-old media personality was confronted by three suspects, with one shot at him before running away.

How It Happened

Police said that Stock was attacked as he was exiting a location close to the city center landmark.

"It is alleged the deceased was approached by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they opened fire at him before running from the location on foot," a police statement confirmed.

Surveillance tape reportedly depicted a suspect with dreadlocks and wearing what appeared to be a security uniform opening fire on Stock before running away.

The DJ sought to escape after he was wounded but fell down across the street.

Police added that Stock had an weapon on his person and nothing was taken during the attack.

Key evidence, like cartridges, were recovered from the location.

Police have appealed eyewitnesses who may have witnessed the attack to come forward.

"Evidence suggests they traveled on foot after the shooting, and investigators have been following their trail to determine their whereabouts," added an official.
